Day 742: East river

Torrential rains produced a river down the low-lying east side of our property.  It flowed north to merge with the Willow Sea.  If it froze, I could skate around the entire yard.

The girls looked terrific in their first dance rehearsal while Ellen, Sandy, Kathy, Rory and I tackled the dreaded prop room clean out!  Tons of props, costumes and general junk had been been tossed in and piled it up over our heads.  We sorted and put away fabric scraps, hoop skirts, scarves, bobbie pins, knives, swords, mops, silver cups, curlers, gloves, a giant foam cowboy hat, brightly colored boas, fake fruit and flowers.  It goes on and on.  It seems no one puts anything away all year.

In the past,  the chores would bother me, but today there was much sad news and a few bits of good news.  Again, I am reminded how fortunate and blessed I am to be part of the musical team.  After all, these mundane tasks bring me together with beloved friends and happy, dancing teens.
