Day 735: Christmas clean-up

The tree and garlands are down, all the decorations are packed away and stored back up in the attic.  I already miss the sparkling lights.  It marks the end of such a joyous time with all the family gathered together.
We spent three to four hours and the time was well-spent.   Most people don't have to dust their walls, but we do.  The logs were very dirty and since all the furniture was pulled out, it was the perfect opportunity to wipe them down.

We had a long walk outside today while it is still warm, 35 degrees.  Tomorrow, the storm front hits and will carry through Tuesday.  It begins with rain that will freeze very abruptly Monday morning.  Then frigid Arctic air will move into the area with temperatures well below zero.  Plus, high winds and lake effect snow will mean blizzard conditions.

They are predicting minus 40 degrees in Jamestown and minus 27 here.  Yikes!  Very, very dangerous!

It looks like we will have to reschedule the last backpacking meeting again.   Next year, we will return to holding the meetings before Thanksgiving to avoid this problem.
