Important to note: Never pack more than you can carry in one hand up three flights of stairs in a rushing crowd.
Years ago, when the boys were small, we took a camping trip across New England and Canada for nearly two weeks. This was before we had cellphones, credit cards, ATMs. This was back when we packed weeks of food in the car or camper and paid cash for the groceries. We came home with $1.20, just enough to pay the last toll on the thruway.
Tonight when we got home, we had $16.00, just enough to pay for a pizza for dinner. We spent three times more in four days than we did on those two weeks on the road with three kids. But, with each experience, we build great memories with our family.
As soon as we arrived, I jumped in the pool and met my goal of 57 miles!
Every mile now is gravy and a new goal for next season!
