Carol and Mark invited us to join them for the final dinner at running camp again this year. They are always so thoughtful and kind to include us in cross country team events. I can understand that they include Steve since he coached for twelve years and really loved working with the kids. All I did was help out on Fridays when they did the cemetery loops and fountains. But, we are always welcomed back warmly and we greatly appreciate it. At camp, they do double workouts, play games, eat together and bond with each other. They become a team. Set at beautiful Lake Erie State Park, the lake awaits them after long runs, and there's lots of space for volleyball, Kan Jam, and other games.
April called tonight to report on her injury. She rolled her ankle on an uneven sidewalk in Kansas City on Monday night, walked on her injured foot all day Tuesday and Wednesday before her colleagues finally took her to the ER. There the Doctor confirmed it was broken in several places. They splinted it till she got back to NY last night. She spent the day at the hospital and scheduled surgery for Monday. Of course, all the walking she did on the broken bones displaced them so now she needs pins. She is still hoping to fly in for the wedding on Wednesday. What a mess.
