Day 888: Anything Goes!

Drum roll please.....and the 2015 FHS musical is.....Anything Goes!   We've never done this show, so it will be brand new to all of us.  Ben reasoned that it would be a good selection since we will have a new choreographer and a new vocal director.  It takes place on a ship in the 1930s so the number of sets will be greatly reduced.  Hooray!  Another bit of good news is that Ben S. and Jake F. will be working with Steve to learn his job. That will lift many burdens from him.

I produced another half dozen planters today and still have nine to go.   I enjoy creating each individual container garden by selecting flowers of different colors, textures, sizes and qualities to produce a beautiful composition.  Some are monochromatic, others have strong contrasts.  Always there is one tall spire, then bushy, colorful plants in the center and finally a trailing plant that spills over the edge of the pot.  It's fun to make each one different.  In a few weeks, they will be magnificent.

In the vegetable garden, I added yellow and green beans, sweet peas and zinnias.  I also moved the squash plants from behind the garage cause they weren't getting enough sunlight.

Tomorrow, we will clean the pool and add the chemicals.  Then, I can do serious swimming.  The thermometer says the water is 62 degrees, but it feels a bit warmer.  With the next few days close to 80, the water should warm significantly.  It's much later than last year, but I will be so happy to return to the pool!
