Day 1369: Cannonville Camping

One of the objectives of our trip was to see if we could pack up our camping gear in a suitcase, fly across the country and successfully camp out.  Yes!  One large suitcase held the tent, two sleeping bags, two sleeping pads, ground cloth, stove, pots, collapsible cooler, food and dishes.

When we arrived, we bought a bit more food, fuel, and a lighter.  The KOA was located in a tiny town called Cannonville that was twenty miles east of Bryce Canyon.   If there had been a bit more to do nearby, we would have stayed another night.  The only problem was the distance to the bathrooms at night.  When we visit Colorado, Wyoming and the Dakotas, we'll do more camping.

Our new tent is lightweight and a bit more spacious than the current backpacking tent.
Since we won't be carrying it anymore, we'll take the new one this spring.
