Day 978: September blooms

Day 83:
Water temp: 70
Air temp: 82 ish
Lengths: 320
Total miles: 87!

Today may have been one of the last two 80+ days of the season so I was determined to rack up the miles.  By the last laps, I couldn't raise my arms any more.

Rachel is free from her Chautauqua obligations, but her house is so torn up that she can't live there yet.  The insurance adjuster is getting a service to address all the mold in the basement.  The old floors are ripped up, but the new floors are not installed.  There's no fixtures or floor in the bathroom and the water is still off.  After a short trip, she'll be spending some nights with us till she can move back in.

Several of the late blooming lilies were glorious today.  The vibrant color and luscious blooms provide such joy.  I started cutting back the lilies along the front path and in the west garden.  Now the mums and snapdragons will be the features.
