Day 191: Musical reunion

Tonight a group of interested people met to begin planning the celebration of 40 years of musicals at Fredonia High School.   Led by Ben W. and three of the other former directors, we'll be producing a show that will include performers, musicians, directors and crew from the musicals of the last 40 years.  It will all take place over the weekend of July 14, 2013.  We hope to have representatives from each of the decades who will perform in ensembles and as soloists.

Last week I swam 5.5 miles so this week my goal is to hit six miles.  One day this week I want to swim 300 lengths or 1.5 miles.  It has been such a relief to be able to jump in the cool water while we work in the yard.

On Thursday we will host our third annual garden party.  Unfortunately, the lilies peaked this weekend, but there are still enough lilies blooming to put on a gorgeous display.  We trimmed all the trees and finished spreading the last of the mulch.  Despite the rogue tornado in November that took out six trees in our forest, the frost and late snow fall in April, hungry squirrels that keep eating the lily buds, the gardens still look fabulous.  We desperately need rain but none is predicted until Sunday.
