Day 1587: More ankle trouble

Most think we rest during the ten days between the two day hike and the four day but these days are actually some of the busiest of the year.   About 1:00 this afternoon, we were driving back up to school when we both felt a wave of exhaustion sweep over us.  No time for naps or sitting with feet up.  Too much to do.

Steve worked all morning on gear while I finished all the photo editing from both hikes including all the individual head shots and the group photo.  Then we went to Wally World and made all the prints so we can frame them tomorrow. Plus, I typed and sent all the names to Greg so he can print the certificates.  Afternoon hours were also spent on cooking gear.  Fortunately, we finished in time to walk a couple miles before dinner.

The biggest news today was from Shane.  He called and reported that he sprained his ankle.  He's on crutches so he won't be backpacking.  He has got to get healthy before he leaves for his summer job in Maine.  He'll probably ride with Rick on the Mobile Medical Unit so he can supervise kids during the evening.  So devoted!  Some years the problem is knees, but this year it's ankles.
