It's a strange phenomenon that happens every year. We are exhausted before we even get on the trail. So much time, so many details, classes, supplies, equipment issues, health concerns, shifting personnel, accommodations, uncooperative coaches. My head feels foggy and my eyes are heavy. On counterpoint: The reaction of the kids at Brocton and Cassadaga was unanimously positive., despite their sunburn and heavy packs. I asked what they liked best: Bobseine's screeching, Mr. Nowicki, Vince's whale songs, the cheese and bagels, the games. Our team and the magic they create. That's what lifts me up.
And there was time for a long walk and time to work in my garden. It's all good.
