We celebrated this glorious spring day with a long walk and a picnic lunch. Bees were buzzing around the crocus and I discovered iris blooming on Day St.

Day 66: Molly K. Cobb
Molly luxuriated in a spotlight of sunshine. Whenever the sun gleams through the dormer window, she follows the light along a path from carpet to couch.
Today's backpacking class in Brocton was just for the ladies. All three girls from the 2010 Quest joined in to share their experiences and encourage the new rookie hikers. They shared tips and offered to lend out pieces of equipment and clothing. I took my backpack and toilet kit to demonstrate some of the lightweight products I use. It was a really productive class.

Day 65: Timber!
The power company had the tree at the corner removed today. We spoke with one of the workers and he said people had been complaining to him because the tree looked fine. From the outside, maybe, but the inside tells the whole story. It has been dropping branches on the power lines for years and knocking out power to the whole neighborhood. We love trees, but this one was dangerous.

Day 64: Puppeteer
My friend Valerie is a gifted conceptual artist. Today at Penelope she shared one of her latest creations, a beautifully crafted puppet. It was designed as part of a play Valerie wrote to relate the life story of a 102 year old lady.

Day 63: Backstage at Fiddler
Such a busy, productive day at Fiddler rehearsal! The sweatshop was in full force while lots of fittings went on. The pit orchestra performed with the cast so there were lots of stops and starts during the run. The kids did a great job!
Kathy, Ellen and I critiqued costumes and exchanged items to get the most harmonious looks. It took till 2:00 to run the show through and then we started on backstage construction and painting. Ellen repaired the curtain hems, but we still have to get paint out of the curtains. Charlie and Sandy spilled a can of paint while they were painting the street scene drop. Tom and Carl worked on the train station and the bed. After the crew removed several damaged floor panels, Rick, Jasmine and I worked on our knees to install new panels.
We were tired, but very satisfied with all that was accomplished.

Day 62: Turtle's progress
Crazy storms are tearing across the country, spawning tornadoes and destroying whole towns. High winds are on the way here, but today was lovely for a walk and a bit of shopping.

Day 61: Another disappointment
I'm so tired tonight that the only photos I took are of my teacup collection.
