Day 100: Beach life

Walking miles along the beach, we discovered small black pouches with hooks on each corner.  Some were bound together with fishing line while others were shredded.  At first, they looked like small bats, then we thought they were rubber fragments.  Finally, I asked a lady who was also examining the strandline and she said they were called "Mermaid purses".  They are actually egg capsules for the fertilized eggs some sharks, skates and chimaeras.

We are both windburned and sunburned despite using #50 sunscreen.  It's been a wonderful, relaxing day.
